I'm switching out the clutch on a new Z I bought, and couldn't figure out why the pilot bushing wouldn't fit. Realized there's an AT collar pressed in, despite it being an MT. The Z drove fine for 400+ miles after I bought it.
How is it possible that the previous owner was running an MT with an AT collar on the crank? I'm assuming I should do things properly and pull the collar - or is this an acceptable way to run an MT (AT collar and no pilot bushing)? Seems like this would cause premature transmission failure.
